In fact, the address given in the Ebay ad is the mailing address for all Ability Counts vendor numbers that service our consumers in the area of work activity programs and supported employment programs. Inland Regional Center (IRC) funding provided to our vendors is not contingent or connected to their fund raising efforts. We pay the vendor to provided authorized services to our consumers, as stipulated in the Lanterman Developmental Disabilities Services Act. The rate setting mechanism contained in the Lanterman Act and Title 17 of the California Code of Regulations does not reflect outside funding sources, such as fund raising activities. Therefore, IRC does not monitor or “watch out for” vendors with fund raising activities. Vendors in Corona and Riverside have not report or have reported small number of the amount fund raising and sold/selling items on Ebay in order to receive a huge funding from Regional Center, while state government and regional center are in hard time. The Chino Hills area. We been in this area for the past 12 years and their is still no programs. When is IRC going to look at our community and start seeing the urgent need for programs in our area. My daughter travels far for her needs to be met. I find this very unfair and troublesome. Please take a close look and try to make an effort to help this bad situation. IRC has always been there to help please don't stop now, we really need you. I’m very concerned about the fact that their is no programs for the disabled in my community. The Chino Hills area. I also have worked at VIP and OPARC so I have been around other handicap people and have got to know them and know how they are and how other people are also. I have a five year old son named Garrett that I had with another handicap person. I do feel that I have alot to offer and alot to bring to the table. I am ready and willing to stick up and speak my mind for handicap people like myself. Thank You I would love to become an advocate for handicap people.
